I like how you’ve taken the classic dungeon crawling adventure to this format, and I think you’re definitely working towards capturing that experience. The sounds and visuals are great touches that bring the world to life and trigger surprise or intrigue. It was fun to interact with some enemies and risk my health points. While I enjoyed exploring and taking a whack at a ghoul, or grabbing an amazing sword, I didn’t have a sense of motivation for why either might be rewarding, so definitely hone in on your mechanics but also think about weaving story into your games once you’ve established some basic systems you’re happy with. Just a smidge of story to tie in what’s going on would be real chef’s kiss for elevating this game further. Fantastic work! Can’t wait to see what else you have in store!

i really enjoyed this !! everytime my character died i backtracked because i wanted to see what would happen next if i made the correct decision! i love the use of background images for atmosphere, and my only critique with that is it made the text a little difficult to read on some slides--  not a big deal, just something to think about. i also got an audio error on one slide, but i'm not sure if that's a coding issue or a google chrome issue. overall, well done !!

thank you so much! I actually didn't realize that until now, thanks for the heads up to both! It seems I've accidentally deleted the audio file lol

im especially glad to hear that, I was wondering if it would be frustrating for the player with all the death lol . Thank you!!

Loved the customizations to the backgrounds and experimentation with font.  It really takes you into the space of the game and immerses yourself in it.

that's really good to hear, thank you so much!

The atmosphere in your game is fantastic! Lots of fun lore and worldbuilding described within, I would love to know more about your world! I love the pulsating choices on each section, along with the added bonus of a health bar. Super cool assets have been added to this.

Great work!

ahh thanks Zack! elder scrolls was a big influence here haha

Sounds like it! Don't blame you, it's a fantastic source of inspiration. Big pog fellow gamer

This is definitely starting to feel like I’m in a dungeon fighting skeletons. You’re using sound and now image in really great ways that establish the environment and keep up with actions. I might suggest working on building into that narrative a little so that the player can feel like there’s a personal connection with the what and why of their dungeon-running. I’m so excited for your game’s development. Keep at it!

Real sense of place here! I'm so glad to see you exploring aesthetic elements like sound, visuals and even animations. One thing I would suggest is creating a mini-map. I would load it at the bottom of each page, basically the same image but with a different location indicator for each room. You would have to create the base in one photoshop or illustrator layer, and save the file with the indicator (in an above layer) moved around. A detail like this adds some time to production, but it could only enhance the sense of place. I also look forward to seeing what an inventory system (which I'll demo soon) could add to the experience. Good job!

Thank you so much Abe!! The map is an awesome idea, hopefully I'll be able to finish illustrating it before next week. Can't wait to try out the new inventory system

You clearly understand the importance of atmosphere and I love it! Crafting atmosphere is one of my favorite things, so you’re in good company. The descriptions  are simple and straight-forward and they really come to life with the accompanying sounds, so you’ve done a great job balancing your elements of content. I legit jumped at the sound of the wraith. This is very fun and seems very player-conscious in terms of meaningful choices. I’m super excited what you do with art and image in your future games!

thank you so much!! I'm really glad to hear that, (not that you got scared lol) but my goal was to really put the player In the setting so that's awesome!

Your sounds are so good! Loved the dark souls sound effect.

Hehe I couldn’t resist, thanks Kim!

I love the sounds! Dipping water and echo really take me there

Thank you Katie!!

Ahh thank you! I am using SugarCube so that may be the difference!
